At ConnectWise, we are humbled that so many of our partners go above and beyond to make a difference in the world. In the latest installment of our series, Partners Saving the World, we want to highlight Greg Zolkos, President and CEO of Atlas Professional Services, for his contributions to the Tampa Bay community.

About Atlas Professional Services

Atlas Professional Services, based in Tampa, Florida, has been a ConnectWise partner since March 2013. Atlas provides companies throughout the region and the state with exceptional IT support services to keep them running optimally and efficiently. Atlas works with organizations of all sizes, from small start-ups, to medium-sized businesses, all the way to large corporate offices.

Atlas was founded by Greg Zolkos in 2006 with a passion and drive for providing stellar IT services to companies of all sizes across the nation. Since its founding, Greg has helped the business flourish into a company that services over 500 customers. Greg intends to use his proven track record in IT, his business management, and his entrepreneurship not only to sustain Atlas’s remarkable level of growth and success, but to truly make a difference in the Tampa Bay area.

How Greg and Atlas are helping the Tampa community

Community involvement is very important to Atlas and its team. Atlas and its employees participate in many charities and organizations each year, with the team donating more than 300 service hours to various philanthropic organizations, including:

  • The Humane Society of Hillsborough County
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • The Great American Cleanup
  • All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg
  • Hillsborough County Sheriff, Polk County Sheriff, and Pasco County Sheriff Charities
  • Mormon Helping Hands and LDS Philanthropies
  • Metropolitan Ministries
  • Great Cycle Challenge
  • Children’s Cancer Center

In addition to instilling a spirit of giving within his company, Greg has been recognized by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office as an honorary deputy.

Because of Jason Foundation

Greg is a founding board member and executive board member for the Because of Jason Foundation, a Tampa-based non-profit that focuses on improving the lives of children who have faced and survived tragic circumstances through educational support and entertaining experiences. Atlas has sponsored the annual Because of Jason Bowl-a-Thon since its inception 13 years ago. This year’s event raised more than $70,000 for the foundation.

Jameis Winston’s Dream Foundation

Greg is also an executive board member and technology advisor for Jameis Winston’s Dream Forever Foundation, which is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of financially disadvantaged children. The foundation aims to instill life fundamentals, such as perseverance, teamwork, work ethic, and discipline, in these kids’ lives and empower them to achieve their dreams regardless of background and upbringing.

Helping neighbors in need

Atlas believes strongly in helping their peers and neighbors who are in need. Because of this, the company provided financial support to other managed service providers (MSPs) affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

In addition, as a company, Atlas sponsored a GoFundMe page that raised over $20,000 for a former employee who tragically lost his young son in an accident. The company recently supported this family with 50% employee participation at the local Roar Through Ybor 5K race benefiting the LifeLink Legacy Fund, which is dedicated to the recovery of life-saving and life-enhancing organs and tissue for transplantation therapy, and the Lions Eye Institute Foundation, a non-for-profit organization that supports sight-related outreach, education, treatment and research.

A company purpose

Atlas has truly embodied the spirit of philanthropy in the community. Because of Greg’s efforts, the company has been able to create a majorly positive impact in the lives of those in need. According to Greg, “Getting involved in the community is very much in line with our core values and culture. We strongly believe in relationships and giving back, especially in our local community. It’s far less important about what we get than just simply doing the right thing because we want to. We are fortunate and don’t want to lose sight of that.”
