Challenge
Central Illinois Scale Company needed to move its 50-year business operations and processes to a modernized infrastructure – all within 6-months. In search of a partner that could help them with the right tools, solutions; and a community to assist.
Solution
The IT Nation offered a multitude of resources, events, thought leadership and peer groups to support Central Illinois Scale Company with its transformative journey.
Results
Not only did the organization transform from pen and paper processes to a modern platform in six month, but the support of The IT Nation (a massive community of technology experts) helped them grow an estimated 20-25% over a three-year period.

“We had an aggressive on-boarding schedule. We want to launch a company-wide transformation in six months. ConnectWise and their enablement teams conducted regular check-ins, tailored intervals, and personalized service to make it all happen.”

“The community offers thought leadership sessions, including conferences and User Groups, where leaders share insights and best practices. Not to mention, there are training opportunities, such as ConnectWise University courses, equip us with the latest knowledge and skills.”

In May 2019, Ryan Fox, sought to elevate their internal processes. With siloed communications and an outdated work order system, Central Illinois Scale Company faced operational challenges. Additionally, they desired better integration in sales processes and workflows.

But, as they say, it takes a village.

Hands-On Learning Lab

Ryan’s journey led him to ConnectWise Explore (aka ‘Automation Nation’), an event held in June 2019. Unlike traditional conferences, Explorer offered a hands-on, deep dive into ConnectWise Manage. As a first-time attendee, Ryan was hosted by ConnectWise, and the experience left an indelible mark.

“Being a hosted guest at Explore was incredible! It was so hands-on and gave me a comprehensive understanding of how ConnectWise PSA functioned. Witnessing the software in action, I was able grasp its unique features and how I could apply it to our business,” Fox said.

Despite differences in terminology, Ryan recognized that ConnectWise shared the same customer-centric philosophy.

“We had an aggressive on-boarding schedule. We want to launch a company-wide transformation in six months. ConnectWise and their enablement teams conducted regular check-ins, tailored intervals, and personalized service to make it all happen.”

Armed with newfound knowledge from ConnectWise SMEs and like-minded peers, Ryan returned to his team, energized and confident. ConnectWise wasn’t just software—it was an engaged community.

“Collectively, the tools and the community were a catalyst for growth. ConnectWise Explore wasn’t merely an event; it was a transformative journey. We leveraged the ConnectWise community to help us achieve operational success and empower growth.”

IT Nation: Where Ideas Ignite

Ryan’s journey extended to IT Nation—an annual event (held in Orlando, FL USA annually in November) that ignited his passion for growth.

The IT Nation is a global community that brings together peers, thought leaders, and experts in the IT industry. It’s more than just events; it’s a collaborative space where professionals can share insights, collaborate, and grow together.

“There are so many amazing things to say about this event. It’s so well-organized. It’s a world-class experience. But it’s the speakers that really seal the experience for me. The event features renowned speakers who shared insights on technology trends, business strategies, and leadership.”

The event facilitates connections with peers, vendors, and thought leaders. Returning from IT Nation, Fox was infused with fresh ideas. The synergy between IT challenges and scale-related complexities resonated. Fox explained, “just as servers and desktops are configurations, so are indicators and load cells in the scale and measurement world. Different nomenclature, sure – but it all applies and translates for us.”

By connecting with a worldwide network of peers and experts, Central Illinois Scale Company gains access to diverse perspectives and experiences.

“Being part of a community of IT professionals allows us to learn from others’ successes and challenges."

Ryan actively participates in ConnectWise User Groups—a vibrant community of like-minded professionals. These groups provided a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and problem-solving. Ryan’s interactions with peers, MSP owners, technicians, and industry experts enriches his understanding of best practices.

“The community offers thought leadership sessions, including conferences and User Groups, where leaders share insights and best practices. Not to mention, there are training opportunities, such as ConnectWise University courses, equip us with the latest knowledge and skills.”

The IT Nation community transcends technical discussions. It’s about empowering businesses, streamlining processes, and creating a supportive ecosystem. The IT Nation fosters camaraderie and support.

“It’s not just about technology; it’s about building relationships and resilience.”

Well said, Ryan.
Keep scaling.
