According to Google, Hurricane Harvey made landfall on August 26, 2017 in Texas as a Category 4 storm and Level 7 disaster, the highest American Red Cross disaster designation. It’s the most powerful hurricane to hit the United States in a decade. Initial reports estimate that several hundred thousand people have been temporarily displaced or affected by this storm.

Hurricane Harvey has brought historic levels of damage to Houston and the surrounding areas, and the damage will continue to mount even after the water begins to recede. We’ve had an opportunity to talk to several of our Houston-based partners, and many are still struggling to survive each day. Many of our partners—and their families and communities—were directed impacted by the unbelievable damage.

That’s where we come in as a community, to support our partners as they face personal and business catastrophes that defy belief. We are a community like no other, and now is the time to show our strength. We rely on one another for a lot more than just business best practices. At a time of tragedy, we’re here to help our partners survive as entrepreneurs and reestablish their successful businesses, so we’re raising $750,000 to meet their needs.

Together, we raised $185,000. Our first attempt at disaster relief fundraising fell short of our lofty $750,000 goal, but in the process, we learned so much about the generosity of our community, and how we can create a longer-term effort to support our partners in need.

We also combined our strength with vendor partners, including HTG Hands that Give, to make sure everyone made it through the initial and residual damage. Those that were lucky enough to avoid catastrophic damage were eager to help those in the area who were not as lucky. Thank you to everyone who everyone who gave their time and money to help the Houston area recover from the storm and its aftermath.

Whether it’s now or in the days, weeks, and months to come, our long-term goal is to continue supporting our partners through recovery and rebuilding efforts. We are focused on close connections with our partners all over the world, connecting those who can help with those who desperately need it. We are creating a structure of immediate support, strengthened by longer-term efforts to boost recovery for everyone impacted by the incredible devastation. We’re standing by, ready to do everything we can.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to support ConnectWise partners impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. We certainly are better together.
