A Culture of Learning
More than 600 technology 'solution providers', exhibitors, and speakers from across the nation joined ConnectWise team members recently in Tampa to study trends within the IT industry, share best business practices and learn from leading experts regarding ways to deliver cutting-edge technologies and services to business of all sizes and vertical markets. Michael Gerber, business visionary, entrepreneur, best-selling author and chairman of E-Myth Worldwide, offered insight into why these small business owners must continually hone routine operations into perfectly repeatable processes to drive greater efficiency and optimized practices.

A technology showcase featured the latest solutions, like managed services, provided a detailed look into this and other rapidly advancing categories, and interactive panel discussions with technology solution providers delved into leading topics on the minds of those at the forefront of technology spending. A wide scope of IT disciplines ranging from network security and wireless networks to storage area networks and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) – the top technology spending categories, according to a recent survey by the Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) and research firm TNS Prognostics – were also discussed.

Perhaps most notably, the managed services market was highlighted as a category expected to show double-digit growth during the next five years, according to InfoTech Research Group. The study found that “buyers in all regions and across all business segments indicate high levels of interest in considering managed services in 2006, representing a vast opportunity for service providers.” Further, Forrester Research reports that North American small and medium-size businesses (SMBs) are challenged with implementing, managing, and maintaining an increasingly complex array of communications network services. Overall, SMBs are only in the early adoption stage of using managed network services.

Managed Service Providers (MSPs) deliver and manage network-based services, applications, and equipment for organizations of varying sizes. They are usually hosting companies or access providers that offer services that can include fully outsourced network management, including messaging and call center, virtual private networks and monitoring/reporting of network servers.

“The ConnectWise mission is simple; deliver a comprehensive software application, refined through user feedback, that enables our partners to achieve the highest level of profitability and service to their clients,” said Arnie Bellini, ConnectWise president. “The solution providers we recognized this year developed creative, business-building efficiencies that others should model.”
