We reviewed your feedback from past Partner Summit surveys and in 2008 you saw some noteworthy changes including:
- Enhanced capacity for networking and best-practice sharing opportunities
- Increased number of breakout sessions designed to keep you at the forefront of industry trends
- More rounds of breakout sessions to offer you more choices and the opportunity to select from several time slots
- More strategic vendor engagement focused on your bottom line
As always, current ConnectWise partners were able to send one attendee to the Partner Summit free of charge. And if you wanted to maximize all the great learning experiences available, you could join us Wednesday September 17 for the ConnectWise Boot Camps and other learning opportunities.
Keynote Speakers 2008
This year we featured two speakers who helped you understand major market changes and how you can use them to create success.
Nicholas Carr authored a provocative article in the Harvard Business Review entitled “IT Doesn’t
Matter,” which claimed multibillion dollar information and Internet technologies would become irrelevant -- if not unnecessary -- as products and services would become standardized and commoditized. He later followed that up with his most recent book, “The Big Switch” where he goes on to make a case for IT services ultimately being moved to centralized data centers. These market shifts create new opportunities for IT solution providers.
Harry Beckwith has written several books on marketing and service, including the classic “Selling the Invisible.” Harry discussed how to build your brand and practical ways to enhance your marketing so that you are prepared for The Big Switch. Harry Beckwith is considered the foremost authority on position marketing, and has spearheaded the brand efforts of companies such as McDonald's, Ernst & Young and Sun Microsystems. Many of his books are used as required reading in Marketing and Advertising classes at prestigious universities around the country.
