Keynote Speakers 2008 This year we featured two speakers who helped you understand major market changes and how you can use them to create success.
Nicholas Carr authored a provocative article in the Harvard Business Review entitled “IT Doesn’t Matter,” which claimed multibillion dollar information and Internet technologies would become irrelevant -- if not unnecessary -- as products and services would become standardized and commoditized. He later followed that up with his most recent book, “The Big Switch” where he goes on to make a case for IT services ultimately being moved to centralized data centers. These market shifts create new opportunities for IT solution providers.
Harry Beckwith has written several books on marketing and service, including the classic “Selling the Invisible.” Harry discussed how to build your brand and practical ways to enhance your marketing so that you are prepared for The Big Switch. Harry Beckwith is considered the foremost authority on position marketing, and has spearheaded the brand efforts of companies such as McDonald's, Ernst & Young and Sun Microsystems. Many of his books are used as required reading in Marketing and Advertising classes at prestigious universities around the country.
