It's simple really. During the regular process of logging into ConnectWise the security subsystem determines if your account needs you to prove your identity with a stronger credential. If so, a second screen pops up challenging you for your AuthAnvil passcode. You simply type in your 4 to 8 digit personal PIN, and then enter the 8 character one-time password generated by your AuthAnvil token.
This provides you with a level of strong authentication and identity assurance that staff accessing ConnectWise are who they say they are, no matter if they access ConnectWise from inside the office, from across town, or when across the country.
Some of the benefits this provides include:
- Reduce business liability as it relates to account access within ConnectWise, giving you confidence that only the intended party is actually accessing the system. Even if someone knew someone else's ConnectWise password, they still couldn't log in on their behalf without a dynamic one-time password that is generated from that user's AuthAnvil token.
