Dedicated IP	The ConnectWise Server uses ports 80 and 443; a dedicated IP will be needed.
Remote Access	To receive ongoing support, a Windows Remote Desktop Connection must be available.
SSL Certificate	The ConnectWise Server must have a purchased certificate installed on the server or placed on the desktop prior to installation. A self-signed or wild card certificate will not work and is not supported.
Microsoft ISA Server Not Supported	Microsoft ISA Server has been known to be aggressive with its packet inspection and web caching abilities. This will cause serious issues with ConnectWise PSA. As such, the ConnectWise server cannot be placed behind a Microsoft ISA server or any other proxy server.

Virtual Performance Setting High	Set your ConnectWise Virtual Server's share priority to High.
Virtual Server Responsibility	You are responsible for your virtual server and must make sure to provide enough RAM, CPU and Priority. ConnectWise does not troubleshoot performance issues in your virtual environment. ConnectWise will charge $150.00/hour for any additional support required to accommodate the ConnectWise Server in your virtual environment.

Recommended Software / Integration Points

Microsoft Exchange 2007 or 2010. ConnectWise creates a centralized Email Directory and Contact folder and integrates to the Exchange Calendar.
Microsoft Outlook 2007, 2010. ConnectWise can capture emails to Service Tickets and Sales Activities.
Microsoft Word 2007, 2010. ConnectWise can integrate with document templates.
Microsoft Excel 2007, 2010. ConnectWise can export many lists to Excel spreadsheets.
Microsoft Project 2007, 2010. ConnectWise supports integration with MS Project.

Backup / Disaster Recovery Planning Recommendations:

As part of the installation process, we will create a SQL Maintenance Plan that will perform the following:

Reorganize the DB
Full backup
Maintenance clean up tasks - set to keep 7 days days full of backups
Cleanup history task - Each time a job runs, SQL keeps a log of the outcome. This prevents logs from filling the disk drive.

This is a standard plan and it will be set to run nightly at 12am. It can be modified if needed, please consult with ConnectWise prior to making any changes to the maintenance plan. In addition to these backups, ConnectWise recommends employing a third party backup utility. There are many to choose from to either take backups of the SQL databases directly or take copies of the backups the SQL maintenance plan makes. Either way, it is best practice to have copies off server in case of a disaster and we need to reinstall ConnectWise.
